Agenda

  • Data Access web page mock-up (Reiko)
Reiko will add link to thredds server on elvis (with caveat that it is for programmatic access) and distribute the link to the page to the rest of the BOG group.
  • THREDDS server status (Mike)
Still need to stitch together archived QC data with current deployment data.
  • Port of ncarchive.jsp to use netcdf-java 4 (Mike)
Debugging issues with TDS access right now. The plan is to add another access link next to the OPeNDAP access link on the TDS.
  • Matlab nctoolbox (Brian)
Did tech transfer to UCSD/SDCS to make the nctoolbox part of the OOC-CI.
For COARDS-compliant data you can now subset along coordinate axes.
Should also add to OPeNDAP site: http://opendap.org/faq/whatClients.html.
Brian Schlining sent a request on 2009-11-12 to the OPeNDAP folks to add nctoolbox to their site.

John Ryan reports that he's used successfully nctoolbox to access satellite, model, and mooring data and it is now his standard tool for accessing netCDF/OPeNDAP data.

  • Web access portal for BOG data
Mike will be working on this the remaining of 2009. Google Earth output will be one of the products.
  • 2010 Data Visualization project goals
We need to coordinate with SAIC, CeNCOOS, and the other regional associations and other groups serving and creating products of upper water column data. Example sites include:[
    http://whpo.ucsd.edu/][
    http://www.nanoos.org/nvs/nvs.php?path=NVS-Assets]
As the specific goals of the 2010 project are not explicitly stated in the proposal we seek input from data users on what interfaces are most useful.
